And the New years eve food;=)

And on we go to what we ate;=)

Mum and her husband always sing at a choir concert at 4 in the afternoon so we drove home to their house around 4 and started doing the starters and main course, set the table and so on, so when they arrived almost everything was ready;=)

I set the table like this:

For starters we did a Toast Skagen and while Johan made the Skagen paste, I made the bread to have underneath. I used mum´s ginger bread form shaped as a heart to make them look cuter.

Johan chopping dill and red onion for the Skagen paste

And here´s the result:

Then on to the main course which was Filet Mignon baked into a butter paste and filled with Portabello mushrooms and onions

Johan putting on plastic foil around the filet mignon after the filling and butter paste has been rolled around the big filet:

And then in to the oven until it has reached around 55 degrees inside.

Then I chopped lots of potatoes and sweet potatoes, boiled them and then Johan added carrots, butter and spices and made a nice mash:

Then a really yummie sauce where he used morels, cream, fond, onion, whiskey, butter and flour.

First he put the dried morels in water to make them swell:

And the final result is here:

Then my dear mum had made the super yummie dessert which was a lingonberry parfait with crackers. I forgot to take a photo beforehand, so here´s a little half eaten dessert photo;=)

Later in the evening we had champagne, tosca cake my mum had baked and candy, nuts and tea. At 12 we looked at the fire works (me with my fingers in my ears=) and then we sat up until 2 and then we all went to bed. A very nice and relaxed New years eve! Hope yours were nice too!

For the new year's eve, I was alone in my studio flat and it was great! Better than with my family.

Happy new year to you and your family! I hope that we will be able to listen to your new songs this year and maybe all of an album! ;-)

Have a nice evening.

I love to watch the fireworks, here in my town we went to the beach, there was several ferries from where the fireworks were launched. So cute.

Hi Nettie! I've really liked this post and the previous one =) I like the way you have set the table, and those plates are so beautiful *_* and loved the pics in which you show the cooking steps =) I've already heard about the fact you have problems with loud noises, because at the end of the concerts you used to leave the stage in that moment :( anyway, yesterday we had our New Year Eve, ate, spent our time all together till 6 in the morning...further my boyfriend who's a keyboard player and our guitarist played their instruments at 2 in the night ahhaha they're crazy...(we were in countryside, in the same house where we have our rehearsals room for our band), but that time people living around were sleeping xD but then they stopped and we played some table games all together till it was dawn...eating confectionery in the meanwhile :P I need to sleep now...good night my dear, best wishes for the New Year again!! byyyyee

Hi Anette! :-)

Just got in from work. Reading your comment about the fireworks reminds me of the time when I was 12 and my school friend bought round some fireworks ( for Nov 5th ). My late dad set our fireworks off first. Then he set off my friend's rocket and the screech and bang was so loud that I had to cover my ears too :-)

Very nicely set tables Anette :-) And nice looking food too :-)

HAPPY NEW YEAR IN 2013 Anette, my favourite lady viking! :-) And the same also to your family! :-) I sincerly hope you get to spend much more time with your kids and husband than perhaps you've been previously able to do so in recent years :-) I think you're a good woman and you deserve it! :-)

You're very lucky to have a chef at home! Hehe!
And I love how you set the table!

For Xmas eve my grandma planned SO much food that we couldnt eat every course! It was a 6 course meal, reduce to goose liver, salmon and cake for me. And we kept the others courses for other days!

So have a great day my dear,
