Happy Mother's Day Anette! :-)

I have a funny story to tell you that I've not told you yet! :-)

I remember 2 weeks ago on 12th May when you posted an article called Happy Mother's Day :-) When I read that I thought it was mother's day over here in England and thought I'd not realized :-) So I rushed off down to the convienience store to get my mum a card and withdrew £50 from the cash machine as a gift for her :-) When I saw her later on that day I gave her the card with the cash gift inside it which she accepted while saying she didn't realize it was mother's day :-) It was only later when I was having a little text chat with my friend and I asked him what he'd got his mum for mother's day that he told me mother's day was back in March! :- )

OOPS! :-D hahaha! :-D

It was only then that I actually remembered we'd already had mothers day here in England and I even remembered getting her a card and gift back in March too! :-D hahaha! :-D

Clearly I spend too much time in work :-)

Nevermind Anette :-) As it's you I'll let you off! :-D

I wish you a lovely mothers day with your family today! :-) Happy mother's day Anette, my favourite lady viking! :-) x

Oh, I didn´t remember that in Sweden mother´s day is later than in Germany. So, a very happy mothers´ day to you and your family :).

Oh, and this looks so tasty, especially that sausage on the left one.

Happy mother's day to you and your mum. <3

those buns look similar to english muffins. i like mine with bacon, egg, cheese and tomato sauce. yes i know it's fatty but hey i treat myself to a "naughty" breakfast on weekends. that said it can be made healthy...if i choose too. todays was chocolate cookies. rest of the week has been granola. today is a bank holiday in the uk.

but i've caught the baking bug too. i baked fruit and nut flapjack saturday. it's filling and healthy. 175g oats, 100g butter (yes butter is healthy! margarine contains transfat which is harder for the body to process and remove. when cut into 16ths it's aprrox 6.25g per bite.), 50g dark soft sugar, 4 tbsp honey, 50g mixed nuts (the pack i used had peanuts, hazelnuts and brazil nuts but it doesn't matter that much which are used) and 50g raisins (can be swapped for any other dried fruit eg apricots, figs, apple.). the original recipe was for 50g pecans and 50g hazelnuts..but it doesn't really matter as it's adding to a basic flapjack. preheat oven to gas 4 (i don't know for electric ovens). grease and line a tin. melt the butter over a low heat. then add the sugar and honey. once dissolved remove from the heat and stir in the oats (mix well. i found adding bits at a time and folding in worked well). stir in the fruit and the nuts (switch to figure of 8). then press into the tin using a metal spoon and finally bake for 25 mins. allow to cool completely on a rack before cutting into bitesize pieces and removing from the tin. store in air tight tin...if it lasts that long. :)
