I wish you a very nice day on national Sweden day! :-)
There seems to be a lot about Sweden that I've always found very appealing :-) To start off the music is great and in my opinion very similar to Wales ( the place over here in the UK ) as I've observed the people of Scandinavia seem to love singing and, like the Welsh ( and me ), they also have the same tendency to think in music :-)
And then you've got the very enjoyable history of Sweden which includes, most obviously, the Vikings, which is fun :-)
I've also heard that the Swedish people, like me, are wonderfully polite :-)
Plus the women of Sweden are good looking including you Anette :-D I've always had a natural tendency for blondes and I've only had blonde girlfriends :-) Never dated a brunette :-) Ohh..the thought of all those good looking lady vikings across Sweden! :-D The colours of the Swedish flag seem to represent the blonde hair and blue eyes of the Swedish people! :-)
So Sweden might be heaven on earth for me :-) It's a shame I'm not Scandinavian as I feel I match it's profile :-)
I think I was born in the wrong country :-D Hahaha! :-D
Have a great national Sweden day Anette, my favourite lady viking! :-D x
Happy Sweden day! I can't listen to our national anthem. I don't know, first tunes and I cry like a little child and always no matter where, there are quite nasties comments from Southern neigh-boards. I am curious to here more anthems from different nations, it's quite interesting.
Have a wonderful day and here is Slovak national anthem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_Cl5fRPIJc
I absolutely love the Swedish anthem. In my opinion, it's one of the few that deserve to be anthems. However, the version I knew was not this one.
I think most of the anthems sound rather like marches instead of real national songs. But still I have some favorites from both groups. I like the Israeli, the Finnish, the Polish and the German ones.
But of course the most beautiful anthem to me is our own song: Hungarian anthem
Actually, is there only one national day in Sweden? Here we have several ones. For example we have a national day of mourning on 4th June. It's the Treaty of Trianon...
Sure, Sweden is a fantastic place in this world... I love Kiruna, I like the forest, peace and nature from Sweden. Some day I will stay from there. Happy national day, dear Anette. Cheers, Gabriel
@ Tom Sometimes I feel the same. That I was born in the wrong country. That's why I started to learn Swedish and Finnish and I'm planning to live abroad. At first I felt that I'm a traitor and I'm disloyal but then I realized that it's more complicated than that. I'm very proud of my homeland (and I'll always be) and as I've noticed, I appreciate my national identity more than anyone else around me. And leaving your country doesn't mean leaving your national identity. I'll never forget, which country I was born wherever fate will take me.
Fortunately, others are very encouraging when it comes to my Swedish-loving-thing. They keep saying that with my colors and shyness I'll totally fit in. I hope they're right. =)
So if I feel the need for change, why not? Whatever will happen to me I'm excitedly looking forward to it. =)
